One Year Later & a Happy Birthday to MARKET Calgary

Can you believe it’s been a year since Calgary’s MARKET restaurant opened? In some ways, it feels like the 17th Avenue staple has been open for just a few months {it still has that crisp, fresh appeal to it}, while in other ways I can’t help but think it’s been around for ages. I suppose it’s because Calgary’s had a hell of a year: undergoing changes and overcoming obstacles – as has MARKET.

I had the chance to attend their one year birthday bash last weekend and took a few photos between bites {Crispy Quail, Beet & Goat Cheese on Rosemary Sables, or Chocolate Peanut Butter Macarons, anyone? Good god.} and sips {Maker’s Mark Old Fashions to die for.} for you.

On another note, do you think they’d mind if I just hung out and watched the über-talented team cook all day? Maybe they could hire me. I promise* I’m a good employee/coffee delivery person/high-fiver.
