I hate winter. Sorry, rude, I know. I hate that word. There I go again.

I belong somewhere warm and sunny. I actually have an allergy to the cold. It’s like a cruel joke is being played on me for four to ten months per year... I turn into a giant creature made of hives and red welts when I spend time outdoors; a look that doesn’t really capture the look I’m going for. Thanks, Old Man Winter. Who’s rude now?

The feeling of sunshine on my skin is my single most favourite thing in the whole wide world, and I am absolutely living in the wrong place. This much, I know. If I could just relocate somewhere gorgeous like San Diego, I’d do it in a snap. So if you hear of any opportunities… I’m just sayin’.

That said, winter in the Rockies is kind of beautiful. No, not kind of, but really, really beautiful. The kind of beautiful that induces catcalling and phrases like, “daaaaaamn, girl!”

It’s also the kind of beautiful that entices people like myself to pop a couple antihistamines and venture out into the wilderness, dressed like a certain doughboy that giggles when you poke his belly {I’m talkin’ about you, Mr. Pillsbury!}.
